WHAT TO WEAR

The main takeaway here is that you always want to look like YOU.

There is no right way to do this, we all have our own personal style and taste. I just want to encourage you to stay true to who you are, wear something thats makes you feel pretty, comfortable and at home.

If you are struggling I have some tips below..

Style Guide

Colour

Rule of thumb with colour is to keep it neutral.

We want the focus of the images to be the emotion in your faces, so the less distracting your clothes are the better.

Bold colours can also reflect back onto your skin so the more muted or neutral the tone the better.

Neutral don't always mean black and white either. If you going to wear green make it an earthy green... forest, khaki, moss or olive.

Going for orange, lean more towards rust, mustard or burnt orange.

Stay away from the punchy strong colours.

Pattern's + Textures

We want to compliment each other not to match....

Find complimentary colours that look good side by side. Too much contrast can be distracting so if one person is wearing white, we want the other to be in cream/grey/lighter colours as well rather than black.

Textures are a dream to capture. Knits, linens, waffle print or corduroy.

Style

Choosing clothing that adds movement to your images is key.

You will most mostly likely have children on you so something that moves with you and is comfy! If you have little little ones joining the session jeans/pants are always great as I can get you sitting down with them

FAQ

What if the weather is bad?

If it’s pouring or blowing a gale, we are lucky enough to be able to use the Kindy room so if we need we’ll move the set up inside. Overcast skies are often perfect for soft, even lighting!

Do you give us all the photos?

You’ll receive a curated gallery of the best moments - all fully edited. I focus on quality over quantity, so you’re not overwhelmed with near-duplicates or closed eyes.

What happens if my kids don't play ball?

That’s totally okay, I expect a bit of chaos! I work with your family’s energy, not against it. Sometimes the in-between moments, the giggles, the cuddles, or even the tears make the most beautiful photos.

I have lots of tricks I often use to get the kids to get involved.

Bribery always goes a long way too! Mini marshmallows are a tiny and mess free treat

When will we get our photos back?

You’ll receive your full gallery within a week, beautifully edited and ready to download, share, or print just in time for Christmas

Will you share our photos on Social Media?

No, not without your permission.

I love sharing my work and celebrating the beautiful moments I get to capture - and I’m always so grateful when you give me permission to do so. That said, your comfort always comes first.

If you’d prefer to keep your photos just for you, that’s absolutely okay.

My Instagram is set to private to help protect the little ones and keep things more personal. It’s a space for connection, not for exposure - and I deeply respect the trust you place in me.

Just let me know what feels right for you.

Can other family members join us?

Your 10 minute sessions are yours so your more then welcome to bring grandparents or other important family members!

How many photos will we actually receive?

At least 15 (in colour and Black & white) but in saying that if you have worked with me before you will know I am some what of a magician when it comes to capturing kids.

I don't put a limit on how many you will receive so you will get all of the best images!

My focus will be on capturing faces and families together but will always try and capture those little details. The little hands, the big cuddles and even some silly faces.

Can we bring props?

I recommend keeping this session simple and not worrying about props.

In saying that if your child has a comfort toy/teddy bring them along with you, it will make then feel secure and its something extra to document

ON THE DAY

Arrive at least 5 minutes before your session is due to start. We will have some very helpful Mama's to greet you at the kindy gate and will show you where to go when it's your turn.

The photoshoot itself is much more about the experience than it is the photos.

Even though is a quick session it's still time to connect with the family so please make sure all devices are left in the car.

We start the session with some quiet moments, get that one photo that we all know the grandparents will want with everyone smiling and looking at the camera then we get all the beautiful chaos.

We play games, ask questions and just connect! I will give you all the prompts to capture authentic moments together and use our sense's like feel, sight, sound and smell to make the session a enjoyable experience and keep the kids in one place (just for a few minutes)

Your full gallery will be sent via a secure online gallery the next week just in time to get them printed for Christmas.
